Domestic violence impacts 1 in 4 women and 1 in 7 men, according to the National Domestic Violence Hotline. It tears apart the homes of freshlyweds and decades-long marriages alike, affecting people of every age, income level, and background. This insidious issue doesn't discriminate—it spreads fear, trauma, and anxiety beyond the immediate victims to their children, loved ones, and friends.
Every October, during Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we come together on Purple Thursday to raise awareness and stand against this pervasive violence. It’s a simple gesture that can make a powerful statement: we believe in healthy relationships and support survivors.
